Your Privacy Matters. This Privacy Policy explains how CocoWash collects, uses, and protects your personal information when you use our services.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Information You Provide

When you create an account or use our services, we collect:

  • Account Information: Name, email address, phone number, password
  • Payment Information: Credit/debit card details processed securely through Stripe — CocoWash does not store your full card details
  • Vehicle Information: Make, model, year, color, license plate number
  • Service Address: Pickup and delivery locations
  • Driver Information (for drivers): Driver's license photo, vehicle insurance photo, vehicle registration photo, and profile selfie

1.2 What CocoWash Does NOT Collect

CocoWash does not collect, store, or have access to:
  • Social Security Numbers
  • Full bank account numbers — collected directly by Stripe Connect
  • Immigration or work authorization documents
  • Full credit card numbers — handled entirely by Stripe

1.3 Automatically Collected Information

When you use the CocoWash app, we automatically collect:

  • Location Data: Real-time GPS location during service
  • Device Information: Device type, operating system, unique device identifiers
  • Usage Data: App interactions, features used, service history
  • Log Data: IP address, browser type, access times

1.4 Information from Third Parties

  • Payment Processors: Transaction confirmations from Stripe
  • Driver Review: Pass or approval status only
  • Maps and Navigation: Location data from Google Maps

  • Conduct Driver Review of submitted documents

3. Information Sharing

3.1 With Service Providers

  • Payment Processing: Stripe for secure payment processing and driver payouts
  • Cloud Hosting: Firebase/Google Cloud for data storage
  • Analytics: Usage analytics providers
  • Customer Support: Support service tools

3.2 Between Users

  • With Drivers: Your first name, pickup location, vehicle information, and phone number
  • With Customers: Driver's first name, photo, vehicle information, and real-time location during active jobs

3.3 For Legal Reasons

  • Comply with laws, regulations, or court orders
  • Respond to lawful government requests
  • Protect rights, safety, or property
  • Investigate potential violations
  • Prevent fraud or security issues

3.4 Business Transfers

If CocoWash is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale, your information may be transferred. We will notify you before this occurs.

  • Account Data: Until account deletion, then 90 days
  • Transaction Records: 7 years for tax and legal compliance
  • Service History: 3 years
  • Vehicle Photos: 12 months after service date
  • Location Data: 90 days after service completion
  • Chat Messages: 6 months

5. Your Privacy Rights

5.1 Access and Update

You have the right to access and update your personal information. Update your information in app settings or contact support@cocowash.org.

5.2 Delete Your Data

You can request deletion of your account and personal data by using the Delete Account option in app settings or contacting support@cocowash.org. Note: Some information may be retained for legal or legitimate business purposes.

5.3 How to Delete Your Account

CocoWash provides a built-in account deletion feature directly in the app. You can permanently delete your account and all associated data at any time by following the steps below.

    Open the CocoWash app and make sure you are logged in to the account you want to delete.

    Go to Settings — tap the Settings tab at the bottom of the screen.

    Tap Account Security — scroll down to find the Account Security section.

    Tap Delete Account — you will see a confirmation warning listing everything that will be permanently deleted.

    Enter your password to confirm — this prevents accidental deletion. Your account and all associated data will be permanently deleted immediately.
⚠️ This action is permanent. Once your account is deleted it cannot be recovered. All your personal data, saved addresses, and preferences will be removed immediately.

Can't access the app?

If you are unable to delete your account through the app, email us at support@cocowash.org with the subject line "Account Deletion Request" and include your registered email address. We will process your deletion request within 30 days.

5.4 Opt-Out of Marketing

You can opt out of promotional communications by clicking Unsubscribe in marketing emails, adjusting notification preferences in app settings, or contacting support@cocowash.org.

5.5 Data Portability

You can request a copy of your personal data in a portable format by contacting support@cocowash.org.

  • Match you with nearby drivers
  • Track real-time service progress
  • Navigate to pickup and delivery locations
  • Improve service quality and driver routing
  • Customer location is collected when the app is in use during an active booking
  • Driver location is collected continuously while the driver is online
  • Real-time driver location is shared with the assigned customer during active jobs
  • You can disable location services in device settings, but this will prevent full use of the service

7. Data Security

  • Encryption: Data encrypted in transit using SSL/TLS and at rest
  • Secure Payment Processing: PCI-DSS compliant through Stripe
  • Access Controls: Limited employee access on a need-to-know basis
  • Secure Cloud Infrastructure: Firebase/Google Cloud security

8. Children's Privacy

CocoWash is not intended for users under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children. Contact support@cocowash.org if you believe we have.

Your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your own. We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated policy with a new Last Updated date and sending an in-app notification.
